Quercus Alba-(White Oak) This tree is one of the pre-eminent hardwood of eastern and central. The white oak typical reach about 80-100 feet tall. The leaves grow to be 5-8.5 inches long and 2.75-4.5 inches wide and are usually have a deep glossy green color. Acorns are another feature of this tree, they are annual. Oaks are a good food source for both large and small animals. Oaks are affected by humans because of destruction, pollution, and poor cultural practices. Some interesting adaptations are oak trees have a deep root system that alloes them to reach water.

WHITE OAK

This is one of the 17-19 types of the genus Carya, otherwise known as hickory. Hickory flowers are small yellow/green catkins and are produced in spring. The fruit(nut) is 2-5 cm long and 1.5-3 cm in diameter.Twelve spieces are native to the United States, four are native to Mexico, five or six are native to China, Indochina, and India(State of Assam) and two to four are found in Canada. 

HICKORY

The Black Walnut also known as 'Juglans Nigra'. It' a flowering tree in the walnut family. that is native to Eastern North America. This tree mostly only grows in the riparian zones; and it is a deciduous tree that grows to a height of 98-131 feet. black walnuts trees reproduce when their green imature nuts fall from the trees. After the nuts mature they are eaten and transported by small mamals. Humans have effected this tree by cutting it down for timber or harvesting most of the nuts, making is hard for reproduction. Some limiting factors to the Black Walnut trees are that they require damy soil to grow correctly, and their roots are quite invasive.

BLACK WALNUT

The Magnolia tree is part of a large genus (210) plant species of flowering plants. It's scientific name is Manoliodeae for the subfamily and for the family it is Magnoliaceace. This tree is named after a french botanist Pierre Magnol. The magnolia tree can reach 90 feet in height; it is a large striking evegreen tree with large dark leaves up to 20 cm in lenght, and 12 cm wide. This tree also produces large flowers up to 30 cm in diameter.

MAGNOLIA

The Red Dogwoods scientific name is the 'Cornus Scericea'; it is also a flowering plant. Other names this plant has is: red willow, red-rood, and western dogwood; plus many more. It can grow to 10+ feet at full maturity.

RED DOGWOOD

An oak can be a tree or shrub, it is classified in the genus Quercus of the Family Fagaceae. In this family there are approxamately 600 species. This tree takes 6-18 months to fully mature. the wood from an oak tree create great strength and hardness in a structure. The leaves and acorns of an oak tree can be toxic to cattle, sheep, goats, and horses due to large amounts of tanic acid.

OAK

Mostly native to japan the Weeping Cherry has the scientific name Prunus Subhirtella. The weeping cherry in this  photo is not in bloom, but when they are they are a very pretty shade of pink. While this tree does produce fruit it is  more commonly planted for ornamental value. It is possible for this tree to grow up to 20-30 feet in height and almost the same in width.

WEEPING CHERRY

Juglans Cinerea is a deciduous tree growing to 20 meters(66ft) tall, rarely 40 meters, (130 ft). Butternut is a slow-growing species, and rarely   lives longer than 75 years. It has a 40-80 cm stem diameter, with  light gray bark. The leaves are pinnate, 40-70 cm long, with 11-17 leaflets, each leaflet 5-10 cm long and 3-5 cm broad, The whole leaf us downy-pubescent, and a somewhat brighter, yellower green than many other tree leaves.
