
This is an american bumble bee also known as the Bombus pensylvanicus; you can tell because the strip of black on the mostly yellow bee. American Bumble Bees are very industrous pollinators, they forage for pollen in fields, gardens, meadows, parks,and forests. when it is time fir the males to repopulate they may only do so with the queen, interestingly, only about one in seven males achieve reproduction. Sadly, the bumble bee population is decreasing steadly, because of habiait loss, increased pesticides, and pollution this almost all do to human influences.

This picture shows a baby rat snake (A.K.A Zameris longissimus); this snake was small enough to fit in that jar (it was in the jar because my neighbor found it in her basement) while the adult kind of this species would be up to 10 feet in length. Rat snakes are medium to large size, up to 2 pounds, and can grow up to 5 feet in length. They are also found through the majority of the Northern Hemisphere, and are part of the Colubridae family.
